Fall Hymn

I opened my eyes this morning
I’ld been in another way of life
I knew I hadn’t any answers
and may never have been right

I want to thank you for the sunlight
I want to thank you for the rain
And if  I knew who we prayed to
I wouldn’t need a name

I looked outside of my window
The light was different somehow
And it seemed so real and solid
It isn’t always now

Look for me I’m in the echoes
And the spaces in between
A whisper behind your language
Hints of places in a dream

Can we all share the secret
Walk through doorways if we dare
Know we breathe in each other
Wake up to become aware
