Alive Inside

© words & music Jeff Shoub
The summer sun in the the sky
never questions if its right or even wonders why
It should burn through the night.
It has no worries ‘bout the worlds of life receiving its light.
But don’t it seem funny
We’re all so convinced
It can’t always be sunny
It’s just that we haven’t been truly alive…….Inside
Crashing storms wild fires
There’s no guilt or remorse there is only desire
To create what’s inside
We only look in front ignoring everything that’s behind
Still it’s not funny
The pain and the hurt are so real to us now
It’s not payback, unlucky
It’s just that we haven’t been truly alive inside
But we’re travellin on our way
Alive inside we will always stay
There its only now,and it’s only now,
where it’s only now, there is only now
The gibbous moon in the night
It’s not lonely or empty it’s really doin alright
What we can’t see is there
When we take the time to open up and stare
Hey it’s actually funny
One moment can be a whole lifetime for some
Sure there’s bitter and honey
It’s time to become truly alive inside
